Farming Britain was established in September, 2021 in the North West of England, UK.
Our vision in starting the company was to create a platform which enabled consumers to support local and diverse, farming businesses.
The idea began during a family holiday to the wonderful Perthshire, Scotland. With being farmers ourselves, the passion for agriculture never really leaves you, whether on holiday or not. Whilst visiting Scotland, we wanted to explore and support the different types of farm-based businesses around us.
From wanting to source local milk and cheese to visiting coffee shops and tea rooms – none of this was achievable unless we happened to stumble across them, or they were ranked the highest in search engines.
We then came home and saw a comment on a Social Media site which read along the lines of, “I would support British Farmers more, if I knew how and where I could buy their products or services”.
What if we created a huge directory of farming businesses across Britain, that consumers could visit and reach what’s around them?
We’re telling the British public to “BACK BRITISH FARMING” – we need to make this accessible and achievable…
So, whether that is choosing to stay in a converted, self catering barn which use to be a run down, calf rearing shed for your next holiday.
Or, visiting your local, milk and egg vending machine first thing in the morning.
Or, choosing a piece of British beef for your family Sunday Roast along with seasonal vegetables from your local farm shop.
We want to cast the net wide, from farm shops to shepherd’s huts and glamping pods to craft workshops – if your business is a potential ambassador for farming, we want to make you accessible to end consumers.
We are bringing together farming businesses across Britain, bridging the gap and building a community.
There can be a bright future in British Farming and we must support rural communities to thrive.
